Gail Toupin is a certified Labor and Postpartum Doula, trained through both DONA International and ProDoula. In 2023, she founded Rooted Doula, a private practice based in Farmington Hills, Michigan and serving families across Southeast Michigan. In 2025, Gail partnered with fellow doula and longtime colleague Bailey Baldwin, owner of Cosmic Tree Doula in South Lyon, Michigan. The two trained together at the start of their careers and have supported one another ever since. Their natural collaboration and shared values led them to formally join forces, believing deeply in the power of partnership. Together, they offer families twice the support, two compassionate perspectives, and double the presence throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Gail believes every mother deserves to feel seen, empowered, and grounded during the journey into parenthood. She helps clients connect with the birth experience that feels right for them, encouraging a deep trust in their body’s wisdom. When desired, she also integrates faith and spirituality into her care, offering an added layer of soulful support. Her path to doula work is rooted in a background in holistic health, a love for community, and a deep passion for educating and uplifting families.

When she’s not supporting families, you’ll find Gail spending time with her cat, Harley, and her sweet niece and goddaughter, Emma. She loves singing, listening to podcasts, connecting through her church community, and grabbing coffee with friends or family. An avid runner and nature lover, Gail enjoys hiking and doing yoga with her fiancé, Nik. She’s also a proud University of Michigan alum — Go Blue!
