Meet Our Founder
Whole Mama Michigan was founded in 2025 by Emily Stone, as a one-stop-shop for new and expecting parents in the Livingston County area. Her vision was to provide the classes, services, and referrals families would need to support their journey from preconception through postpartum, as well as connect new parents to one another and build a true community.
Emily brings 18 years experience designing education programs that support people through transition. She is also a certified childbirth educator, breastfeeding counselor, and nutrition coach. In 2021, Emily earned an Executive MBA and put those business skills to use by building the infrastructure for what is today both a brick-and-mortar and online wellness collective.
While serving local families, Whole Mama also supports women-owned wellness practitioners and businesses, including doulas, lactation consultants, physical and mental health therapists, sleep consultants, and fitness instructors. Moms come to one place for trusted referrals and practitioners collaborate to provide comprehensive care and support for families. It's as model unlike any other, but one Emily hopes to replicate in communities across Michigan as the business grows.
Funding for Whole Mama Michigan has come from a Kiva crowdsourced loan, Lake Trust Credit Union, and the Lake Trust Foundation.
